Lemonade

A few of you have asked about my sister-in-love. . . So, I thought I'd give a quick update. She had her second chemo treatment this past Tuesday. It has not been a breeze, but we knew it wouldn't. But, she is super resilient and has a wonderful, hopeful outlook. Cecilia has a way of taking lemons and making lemonade.

My brother shaved his head, too. So, for my birthday I received a card with a picture of the two of them - bald - with their tongues sticking out!! Joshua thinks this is the best picture in the world. He looks at it off and on all day. "Uncle Telly and Aunt Cece took their hair off, Mommy, how silly!" He loves it! Kelly and Cecilia are known for sending funny cards - this is by far not the first!

They continue to inspire and challenge me. I love them both so much. I thought this was a wonderful idea, so I thought I'd throw it out there. . . When Cecilia's hair began to fall out, she let her girls play hair-dresser on her. They took two pair of scissors, a few pictures, and made a memory and a large ice-cold pitcher of lemonade. . .

Erin, your new template is perfect! It was so fun to see a recent photo of you; I'm not sure I have since Sarah's and Chris' wedding. I dont think you knew then, but Dan escorted you up and down the aisle, and man did he think you were pretty (he confided later). I should have known right then he'd eventually marry a beautiful brunette.

Your design is so pretty, Erin. And your brother and your sister-in-law are inspiring. Their attitude about all this is a huge encourager. What a beautiful family.

I've never gotten to meet your brother and Cecilia (or your sister, either), but from knowing you and your parents, I'm sure the rest of your family is as amazing as you.

Can I say again how EXCITED I am to get to see you soon!!!

What an encouragement, Erin. She really is the perfect Godly example of 'embracing your cup', huh? What an inspiration. Thanks for posting about her journey.

Hi Erin, I've been away for a few days. What surprises!! Your blog looks so great!! I've been thinking about having one designed. Yours is just beautiful.
I've been praying for your sister-in-love. Thanks for the update. She sounds like a very special young woman.
Your hair looks gorgeous. What a sweet, generous thing to do. I know what you mean about the curls. Everyone tells me how lucky I am to have naturally curly hair. Ha!! If only they knew.
I decided the other day just to let it air dry (it's a bit longer than shoulder length) just to see how it would look. Yikes!! I couldn't fit my hair through the door. Ridiculous. So...it's back to the humungous rollers.
Have a blessed sunday.

I read your blog via Sarah. The verse at the top of your blog has been on my mind a lot lately. 'My portion, my cup'

Too sweet. My aunt lost her hair and her life to cancer. I remember her taking her wig off and chasing me through the house with her eyes rolled in the back of her head (her weird special talent) she was 17. She died at 18. But it's a funny special memory I now have.lol

My photo
Hi! I live in a sweet country home overflowing with love and laughter. I have been blessed to journey these days beside a man that I love, respect, and admire. He is my soul-mate and best friend. Together we are seeking to raise our seven children to be lovers of God, to be wise and discerning, and to be all that our sweet God created them to be.
