I will never forget the first March after Erik and I married. Oh. my. What a wake up call! I grew up in a family of die-hard Bobby Knight Hoosier fans, and we kept up with college basketball, but Erik took it to a new level. Now we celebrate March Madness like we celebrate the 4th of July and Thanksgiving - except the best part is that it lasts longer than a day! Oh, the joy!
For the first time that I can remember, my Dad's alma mater, Indiana University, is playing my brother's alma mater, the Arkansas Razorbacks. What a game that will be! My parents cheer for the Razorbacks when they are playing other SEC teams, but we all know where their true loyalty lies.
And, my sister and her husband graduated from the University of Memphis. But, let's be realistic the odds of either IU or U of A surviving to play Memphis are. . . well. . . slim to. . . let's be honest, NONE.
Can anyone say Tennessee and North Carolina?
Let's just say if either of them end up playing Memphis, they will be escorted to San Antonio by their fairy Godmother in a bus with an uncanny resemblance to a pumpkin.
I love this month! Let the madness begin!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love your idea of the wall chart! I enjoy watching b-ball but don't get into it as much as football, baseball, and softball. But my DH enjoys it more and he will be so surprised when he comes home to your idea of the March Madness bracket on our wall! Thanks for sharing. I am enjoying following your blog!
Woo hoo!!! Glad to find someone else as excited about March Madness as me! :) Hey, you need to take that bracket you have there and come on over to my blog -- the second post "Monday Meanderings," at the bottom of it and join the bracket group I have set up. Person with the most points at the end wins a $20 Amazon.com gift certificate. The group is open to anyone! :)
Oh, and how about those Lady Bulldogs, too?! #1 in the country in the NAIA and undefeated going into the tournament. Hopefully we'll have a fourth championship.
Woo hoo! Go IU!
I'm a big Bobby Knight, IU fan too. THis year it will be a little more difficult to watch the games because we live in Okinawa, but we'll do our best to catch them.
Hi, Erin! All my family members have always been big Mississippi State fans. But, at the same time, we've always cheered for Memphis in basketball; I can remember many popcorn suppers in front of the television watching Memphis games when I was a child. My husband told me the other day that there's a good chance Memphis and Mississippi State could play each other in the tournament. I don't know what we'll do!
Woohooo! Come on UNC!!!
Love March Madness! We all do the brackets here in our family and hubby and I both graduated from Memphis so we are all about the Tigers!
Happy Easter!
Blessings,
Linda
