Well, it has finally happened. After more than 3 months. . .
I slept for seven straight, uninterrupted hours last night!! I put Elijah to sleep in the Moses Basket at 7:30 so that Erik and I could bathe and put the older two to bed. At 11:00 p.m. little Elijah was still sleeping soundly in the Moses basket, and I was ready for bed. So, I carefully picked him up, took him into our bathroom, changed his diaper and his clothes, nursed him, and put him to sleep for the night. I woke up at 6:45 a.m. to the sweet pitter patter of Joshua's feet coming to climb into bed with Erik and I.
But, the craziest thing is that the child is still asleep. It is 10:21, and he has yet to wake up. I keep going in to check on him. And, yes, he is breathing. He even coughs occasionally. He must be growing? I feel certain that I will hear his sweet cry soon! But, I am celebrating a full night of sleep with a hot cup of coffee and my computer!!

Now that is worth celebrating!
Hot Dog!!! There is nothing better than a full night's sleep.
That's great! That first full night sleep is always something to celebrate!
Sleep, precious sleep! I hope you feel freshed today.
hurray
Hallelujah! I bet you feel like a new woman! Good baby :)
Argh - can you have Elijah come teach Micah how it's done? We're going on 4 and a half months and no more than 3-5 hour stretches. I'm grateful - he really is a sweet baby - but I'm tiiiiiirrred. :) Soon - I'll join the ranks of the mommas-who-get-sleep! :)
Congratulations! That is something I am soooooooo looking forward to:) And yet at the same time I am enjoying every night time feeding I get with my little one:) Funny how we want two things at once:)
I am so happy for you! It's wonderful, isn't it? *Sigh* I wonder why my 2-year-old won't sleep as well as her 5-month-old brother?!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!
I always feel ready to conquer anything after they sleep through the night the first time - WOOHOO! Sunshine
Hey Erin, I tagged you for a meme. No pressure. Only if you want to :)
Congrats on a good nights sleep. I've been reading your blog for a few weeks and keep coming back because your life sounds alot like mine. I'm a strong Christian and I have THREE boys. Even though my youngest is 6 I still remember the sweet days like you are having now.

Just waiting on my first one to arrive here in a few more weeks, thus I ask a silly questions:
Is that normal for babies to sleep through the night at that age? Has he done it regularly since that night?
Oh my I envy you. I'm home and finally blogging again, Little Wiseman is 10 days old and I am SO tired. (I nurse so I am the one up to feed him...)
Anyway, how old is Elijah? One month?? Yeah for you!
That is AWESOME! I envy you... with my sweet little 4 month old who I just realized is teething. Sweet dreams and hope for another 7 or more hours of blissful sleep for you!
JOYfully in Him,
Kelli
Three months that may have felt like six, I used to tell Don I had "terminal tiredness". Good for you that the little one is growing and giving his mommy some much needed rest. xoxo
