Meet Sam.
Sam has been Joshua's pet fish for a week now. He has been faithfully feeding him (a palm full of salt) each morning and changing his water frequently.
My sister, Kristin, has a large and beautiful aquarium in her living room. So, I am blaming Joshua's fish fetish on her.
I don't really know why we haven't gotten Joshua a fish yet. I feel certain we will. Just waiting for the right occasion, I guess.

Beta fish are really easy to take care of. Poor Joshua. He really needs one.--love, karen
Erin, I cracked up when I saw that picture. E. had a pet fish - several actually that we said 'goodbye' to. This one of Joshua's seems much more stable - ha ha. I love it!!! Get that poor boy a fish! :)
We did fish, and more fish...I must admit I am a bonafide fish killer...so I finally gave up on trying to do fish for ds1 and got one of those "fake" tanks with lights, water and little fish that bob and look sort of real...and sadly less dead than the real ones we attempted.
I like his creativity! He will probably have more fun with this fish then a live one anyway, this one he can pick up and hold!
I don't know why four is the "magic" number for pet fish...Jonas was Joshua's same age when he got his first pet fish. I bought one of those three gallon tank kits at Walmart that has everything you need it in to get going...it ended up being a lot of work for Mommie...Jonas was an over zealous feeder...imagine that! I vote for the Beta fish - if I had it to do over again, I would have taken that route...low maintenance!
Ok, that just cracked me up! =) Poor child... he just wants a fish to feed and love.
that makes me laugh! lol
What a great way to teach him about the responsibility of a pet. I think overnight it should become a real fish....
That is SOOOO cute! Seriously...
